Voice services

Voice services offer a new way to interact with a home. In addition to audio, video, information and shopping services, applications such as Amazon Alexa or Google Home are also ideally suited to control a home equipped with a home automation system.

In HomeLab, such services can be easily tested since all deployed sensors and actuators are integrated. Also, scenarios can easily be defined via a graphical user interface.

In our research, we are also using HomeLab to test how voice commands can be even better captured in dynamic environments, a.o., by leveraging different mics embedded in several IoT enabled devices in one space.
