Air quality

As a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, there is now much more focus on healthy indoor environments. It is important to monitor CO2 and VOC concentrations in addition to indoor temperature and provide feedback to occupants and automatically control (if possible) building systems such as ventilation based on the measured values.

HomeLab has a comprehensive indoor climate monitoring system and allows automatic control of many building systems (ventilation, heating, windows, doors, blinds, curtains, etc.). HomeLab is therefore ideally suited to test out smart indoor climate services, evaluate the effect on end-user comfort as well as the user-friendliness of such tools.

In our research, we consider how the different parameters for a healthy and comfortable indoor climate can be combined in a dynamic way (e.g. taking into account the activities of the occupants) by using semantic data models.
