Indoor radar

Several indoor radar applications have been tested in HomeLab, a.o., to identify inhabitants and detect intruders, recognize gestures, detect a person’s heartbeat, and detect different activities (e.g., walking, sitting, falling).

These applications are always a combination of hardware and deep learning networks that can interpret the data.
Radar has a number of advantages compared to cameras: raw radar data is not interpretable by humans and thus user privacy is better preserved, radar is unaffected by lighting and has through-the-wall sensing capabilities.
